John (Jack) V Hamilton

Jack Hamilton is a founder and the Vice President Exploration at Sarama Resources and has 30 years experience as a professional geologist working around the world for international resource companies. Prior to Sarama, he was the Exploration Manager for Moto Goldmines Ltd in the Democratic Republic of Congo where he was part of the team that discovered the key deposits and subsequent resource at the world class +22 million ounce Moto Gold Project (now Kibali Gold).

Jack specialises in precious metal exploration in Birimian, Archean and Proterozoic greenstone belts and has worked and consulted in West, Central and East Africa for the past 15 years with various companies including Barrick Gold Corporation, Echo Bay Mines, Etruscan Resources Inc, Anglo American, Geo Services International and Moto Goldmines Ltd. Whilst at Moto Goldmines he led the exploration team that took the Moto gold deposit from discovery to bankable feasibility before it was sold to Randgold Resources and AngloGold Ashanti in October 2009.

Paul R. Schmiede

Paul Schmiede is a major shareholder and the Vice President Corporate Development at Sarama Resources Ltd. He is a mining engineer with over 15 years experience in mining and exploration. Prior to joining Sarama in 2010, Paul was Vice President Operations and Project Development at Moto Goldmines Ltd where he managed the pre-feasibility, bankable and definitive feasibility study for the +22 million ounce Democratic Republic of Congo based, Moto Gold Project (now Kibali Gold). Whilst at Moto he also managed the in-country environment and community studies and pre-construction activities. Prior to joining Moto Goldmines, he held senior operational and management positions with Gold Fields Ltd and WMC Resources Ltd where he was responsible for underground and open pit operations as well as project development and planning.

Paul holds a First Class Mine Managers Certificate (Western Australia), a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Nicholas B Longmire

Nick Longmire is the Chief Financial Officer at Sarama Resources. Nick is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience, including five years with KPMG and over 15 years in the mining industry. Nick has managed the commercial and financial activities at a number of international and Australian gold, iron ore and coal mining companies, including Newmont Mining and WMC Resources Ltd. Nick recently coordinated the contracting strategy for a AUD$3 billion project and managed the financial and commercial aspects of construction of the AUD$2 billion Boddington gold project. In addition to his diverse experience in Australia, Nick has also worked in Indonesia and on projects in Cameroon and Malaysia.

Nick holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Michel M Mercier

Michel Mercier is a founder and the West African General Manager for Sarama Resources Ltd. Michel has 30 years experience in exploration geochemistry and geological exploration and has worked throughout West, East and North Africa as well as in Canada. He has held senior exploration management positions at a number of international mining companies including Barrick Gold Corporation, Avnel Mining, Pangea Minerals, Geo Services International, Anglo American, AngloGold and Nevsun Resources. Michel has an extensive network of industry and government contacts in Francophone West Africa and the DRC and was the co-discoverer of the first two million ounces of gold at the Moto Gold Project (now Kibali Gold) in 1998.

For over 10 years he has been the Director of a Canadian company specialising in different techniques of exploration geochemistry and geological exploration. The company has contracts with Geological Survey of Canada, the Québec Ministère des Ressources naturelles and various private companies on projects in Canada, as well as Canadian International Development Agency on geological projects in West Africa. Michel is also Advisor to the Conseil Consultatif du Ministère de l'Énergie et des Ressources of Québec. His experience covers a range of commodities including gold, diamonds and uranium.

John R Mpambije

John Mpambije is the Exploration Manager for Sarama Resources Ltd in Liberia. John has over 15 years experience as an exploration and mining geologist in both greenfield and brownfield exploration settings in Africa. His experience includes senior exploration positions with Kilo Goldmines Ltd, Elemental Minerals Ltd and Tiger Resources Ltd in the Democratic Republic of Congo. From 2000 to 2007 he held the positions of Senior Exploration Geologist and Superintendent Exploration Geologist at AngloGold Ashanti Ltd’s Geita gold mine in Tanzania. John has extensive experience in Archean geological settings and has specialised in exploration target generation and the assessment and evaluation of exploration projects for a number of commodities including gold, copper, cobalt, nickel and uranium.

John has a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology.

Dr Charles (Jay) Hodgson

Jay Hodgson is a founder and has an exclusivity agreement with Sarama to provide exploration targeting and geological advice to the company in respect of its African activities. He has over 40 years international experience in base metals and precious metals exploration. Jay recently spent 10 years as the Chief Geologist for Barrick Gold Corporation where he was involved in the design and implementation of Barrick's worldwide exploration programmes. Prior to working at Barrick, Jay spent 23 years as a Professor of Economic Geology at Canada’s Queen's University where he taught and carried out a program of research on gold, base metal VMS and Sedex, and copper- gold porphyry deposits in collaboration with the mining industry.

Jay holds a PhD from the University of California (Berkeley) and a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Geology.

Guy Scherrer

Guy Scherrer is the Exploration Manager for Sarama Resources Ltd in Mali. Guy has over ten years experience working as an exploration geologist in Canada, DRC, Republic of Congo, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Mali. Guy has worked on a number of advanced exploration projects including the +20M oz Moto gold project (Moto Goldmines) and the Kalana gold project (Avnel). He has also worked on the start-up of several mineral exploration projects in Africa including Lindian Resources in Guinea and Elemental Minerals in Republic of Congo.

Guy has a Bachelors degree from Laval University (Quebec) in Geology and a Masters degree from the National Institute for Scientific Research (Quebec) in Earth Sciences.
